I have a beautiful pair of long boots which are sadly made of some sort of frictionless leather which helps my wayward lower legs behave even more badly than usual... Does anyone have any clever suggestions for ways of making the leather less slippery?!

All help gratefully received!

You can buy a block of "waxy" stuff in the saddlery to apply to saddles to make them more grippy before you ride, I use it at competitions, it would work the same with boots, and not at all harmful to the leather.

You can get a spray that you can apply to your boots, also to saddle if you are prone to unplanned dismounts, makes the leather a little sticky.

We suggest it for our Pony Club eventing or SJ riders as it helps them to remain more secure when jumping.

I believe I s generally used by tennis players to make the racquet handle more grippy. You should be able to buy it from a good sports store.

The easiest thing to do is to clean both your saddle and your boots with saddle soap before you ride and they then tend to stick to each other.
