How to measure for a girth?

I have bought a Throrowgood saddle for Chad and now need to order a girth. How do I measure him to ensure I order the right size?

Numpty question I know, but my previous horses have all come with tack so it's never been an issue before!

Beg borrow or steal different lengths from someone else and try them on. They then measure from end of buckle to end of buckle in 2" incriments.

If that's not an option, get some baling twine out, measure from the 2nd longest girth strap hole to the 2nd longest girth strap hole and go with that meaurement, crossing your fingers that it's right.

You may be able to borrow a girth from a local tack shop to try on too.
