I recently sold a half neck medium weight turnout but I have absolutely no idea how to package it. It's a size 6'3'' so its not huge but it's not exactly small either!

Would wrapping it in brown paper work? Help! I have no idea how to do this!

I have sent them wrapped in a couple
of rubble sacks/thick binliners and also inside out large carrier bags but by far the easiest way is to wrap in one bin liner and place the whole thing in a box

It does depend onany restrictions imposed by the courier - my parcels are sent via my wirk courier who charhes the same for a box as a package

The box thing has cut out so much worry about packaging tearing!

I store mine in the bags you can now buy from the Supermarket - if you get the larger size most rugs will fit in it. You can then hang them up too :D

I fold my rugs

Lay rug on floor - fold in neck rug part

Fold bottom edge up to top edge.

Fold back to centre

Fold front to centre

Fold in half

Fits in bag.

Tuck all straps in between the two sides of the rug before folding anything else

you can buy heavy duty platic rubble bags from places like homebase, taped with duct tape is how ive sent mine in the past

Me too, I got blue garden rubbish ones from Poundstretcher, very thick and easily big enough to use for rugs, about £2.50 for 25. Remember to push down to get rid of any trapped air too, the more solid it is the less risk of damaging the packaging.

Rubble sacks of heavy duty plastic feed sacks - as above as tight as possible.
I'd avoid the actual post office - I sold a 6'3 no fill turnout and well packaged they wanted £13 to post it !! My hermes was £5.50 I think. The post office has gone a bit mad in their pricing recently

Strong bin bags, apparently the post office should not accept things in black bags as had to send a rug ( massive fal) via post office as she was off- shore and my hermes would not do the honours! Cheap said, try a box..... Really big box would have been needed.

I use old plastic feed bags. I turn inside out so the black side is on the outside then I wipe over well.

Fold rug kneeling on it to get all air out then pull a cheap clean bin bag over and tape it up then put this inside the more robust bag.

I'll be using myhermes anyway as Royal mail has gone a bit crazy with their prices.

I think I might have a feed sack lying around, if not I'll get some of those garden waste bags
