My yearling is going to a few shows atm, but shes such a bugger to clean as she's terrified of the noise of water splashing on the floor!!

She hates the noise of hoses, but will stand next to a water bucket whilst I fill them up - but she is still also very scared if I slowly tip a bucket of water over her tail and it splashes on the floor!!

Short of just carrying on (which is challenging on my own as she spooks and runs away and if shes tied up she snaps the ties) what else can I try?

Thank you. xx

Well how I did it with my little colt was start with putting my hand in water and stroking him, moved on to a brush then a sponge, at the same time I had a hosepipe running nearby so he got used to the sound.
I then just started stroking him with the hose, put it on trickle and again built up until the hose was fully on.

I have to point out that he would often get the fidgets but I never made a fuss and just kept the water contact on him. I think once he relised that the water would be on him, even if he threw his toys out the pram, it was easier if he just stood still.

He also now likes playing with the hose and loves the water running in his mouth.

Hope thats some help?? :o

Just take your time, don't hurry her and start every session at the basics. She will soon get used to it.
