Sounds daft doesn't it but I've been looking for a sharer for my 5 year old cob for ages who is as bomb proof as you get in traffic (see car boot sale post!) and will pretty much do anything you ask.

But I keep getting timewasters or nervous novices who will do her no good since she's a baby still really.

Would love someone who might want to hunt her and go and do stuff and I only want cost of shoes and hay contribution but can I find anyone? Can I heck!

what about saying she isn't suitable for novice riders due to her age or something? or even remove the comment about being bombproof and make that a topic for when someone phones and enquires?
Maybe put in the advert as well that you want someone who could hunt her and take her to shows and help to show her the ropes.
For some reason quite a few people think cobs are for novices which isn't the case at all!!

Don't know if that is any help but good luck in your search

Have done local tack/feed shops, lots word of mouth - i.e farrier, vet etc and a couple of web sites.

I might try a national magazine or something next as really need to get something sorted or might have to sell her. She is such a sweet little horse too.

Have also just had very frank conversation with husband who is refusing to feed in the mornings this winter and since I have a baby I can't do it and the person who does it at the moment will have a baby by December.

Why does no one (normal that is as opposed to people who ring me up and ask if she is 'fast') want to ride a sane horse for almost free?

advertise on horsesharesuk.co.uk - I just found a share through them, it's a great site!

From my new experience in looking for a share horse, i found that the info about what the horse is available for /what you'd like him to be doing the most helpful.

Adding that you need someone with experience of young horses is important, too.

If you are looking for someone to share i.e. stay at your yard, you are narrowing the options. I have been looking for a loan horse for ages, but they are all to stay at present yard, which is not practical for me as have horse at my yard and cant be in two places at once ! Also most people looking for a bombproof horse are nervous riders or novices I think.
