How to post a photo

Please someone answer - all I have managed to do via facebook piccies is to get a written link rathe than a photo up? And what does URL mean??
 
A photo needs to be somewhere on the internet so it can be transferred here

Most have set up a photobucket or similar account where they can upload photos from their PC to the internet

Any photo on the internet can usually be copied and then pasted elsewhere to sites such as this one

Find a photo and right click it
Click 'properties'
highlight and then copy the bit next to where it says URL - copy all lines if more than one
It should start with http and end in either jpg or gif

Paste what you have copied then add
at the end of what you pasted without leaving any gaps

The photo will be pasted at the same size as it was originally used so if you want to make it bigger or smaller then you will need to use a site like photobucket to do that

Picture hosting sites like photobucket are usually free and it is usually easier to set the size before uploading to save messing about once it has been uploaded to the picture hosting site

There is usually a box or similar under the picture on a picture hosting site where the URL of the photo can be copied and often there is an option where it can be copied with the img tags already attached

I just uploaded a pic from my PC to that for the first time = easy to do

It acts like a picture hosting site to some degree but will reduce pic size automatically to a max of 600 x 600 if bigger than that

there is no way to adjust pic size using the site system so must be done prior to uploading
 
Using the onsite photo system ... and a picture you have stored in MY PICTURES on your PC

1 click user cp
2 click Pictures & Albums
3 click add or new album
4 name album
5 name picture
6 click Upload Pictures
7 click Browse
8 select the place where the MY PICTURES folder is on your PC and keep clicking OPEN until the picture you want starts to upload
9 put cursor over picture which is now in your HHO album and click copy
10 click the insert image icon at the top of the text pane which you usually write in
11 right click over the highlighted bit and click paste
12 check picture by clicking preview
13 click post when ready
