How to post a saddle, and also abroad?

I've got some of my old horses saddles on ebay, and someone's asked me if I'll ship one of them to the USA. It's an 18" Barnsby jump saddle (to give you an idea of size & weight).

Any idea what it would cost to send it to America???

Also, when you post saddles. What's the best way to package them up? I was thinking of a large box, wrapping the saddle in bubble wrap and then filling in the gaps with scrunched up newspaper. Does that sound OK or are there any better ways?

no idea about cost- perhaps look on parcelforce worldwide or something for a quote.
thats how i've wrapped my saddles and had no complaints...if they are going via courier they are less likely to get bashed about anyway...you could always put a 'fragile' sticker on the box
