I would like to start doing some raised pole work, but don't know what to use to raise them up without them rolling off?

Does anyone have any ideas? I have a useful OH who could possibly make something...? :p

I'm sure i have seen someone mention using children's potties before. Have not tried this myself but can see how it would work.

Plastic barrels (like the type you buy petrol for portable fires), empty, clean , then cut on half lengthways, with two cutouts for the pole to rest, work just fine and recyle at the same time!
They give a stepable height from a walk, the pole can be knocked off but not too easily.

Yup potties - I have green and red ikea ones as advised by a fellow HHOer on here :D Much cheaper than pole pods and more effective imo as they raise the pole slightly higher too.

this is what you do.

Photo belongs to another member on here so I have cropped out the horse and rider (hope you dont mind PaddyandDandy?)

OMG - had my reservations about the potties - but in the pic they actually look purpose built for the job! Might head off to Poundland at the weekend . . . the oldies could do with something to make their bit of exercise more interesting . . .

Oh, and perfect sized jumps for the mini-shettie:D

You might want to consider using square poles rather than round. Was at a tim stockdale demo recently and it was a point he stressed after witnessing a very nasty accident caused bu round poles.
