I have reason to believe a post box that my partner and I have used three times in the last month has had post intercepted or has not been collected from. Two cheques he sent have not reached their destination and my bank card details written on an entry form has not reached its destination either (I have just rang for my dressage times for Saturday and they have not received my entry).

I rang my partner to tell him and he said that was the same post box he has used for the last two cheques which have not arrived.

I am trying to get hold of someone in Royal Mail but all I am getting is a choice of menu on the phone and cannot get through to a human, I have tried every which way, pressing different numbers but can't speak to anyone.

Does anyone know how I can actually get hold of someone to speak to urgently please? I am going to have to stop my card which is very annoying.

Have you tried this number? 03457 740 740

What about speaking to the local post office? They might have another number, or can call on your behalf.

Do you have a 'central' post office anywhere that is actually manned? I'd pop in and speak to the postmaster - they will either report it for you or tell you how to do it.

I have just rang up Warwick Sorting Office. A recorded message "hello your call cannot be taken at the moment and there is no facility to leave a message". GRRRR I am so frustrated. I have rang the bank and stopped my card. I am going to stick a note on the post box tonight when I get home to advise people not to post anything in the box.

Royal Mail is useless, all I want is to speak to a H U M A N!!!!!!! Why is it so hard to make someone answer the phone???????????

I'd try your local big sorting office - I think they're usually the place you'd go to collect a parcel if it wasn't delivered (though sometimes they can be local post offices). I wouldn't waste your time with local post office. If that fails I have an email address for royal mail that is manned by actual people - completely different department but they were helpful and could well point you in the right direction.

The number I posted is the customer service number. Have you tried it?

I had fun trying to get hold of Medway depot, just got robot after robot, eventually got through to a nice chap in Camden, who gave me the direct number, so it's worth hanging on. Sometimes if you don't select any options, the phone will eventually get answered by a real person.

Don't be so quick to blame post office or Royal Mail... Several weeks ago something similar was happening near us, mail not getting to destination disappear for ever.., well one day someone saw a youth with a stick and a line with something sticky on its end " fishing" into the hole on the box and retrieving several letters... Some he threw back in but some he took with him... Report it in writing to Royal Mail at your local sorting office... You get more response with letter, recorded deal so you have a record of it... If there have been more mail missing they will start investigating , at this time of year we deal with 20 times more mail in a day than a normal week... It may take some time to resolve...all I can suggest for now is use a box in a large town or hand into a post office ..hope you get a result.

Yes I have tried that number, sorry. I keep getting options to press, 1, 2, 3 etc and then when I do that I get other options which keep leading me to recorded messages giving me advice. I can't speak to a human. I have just tried the number you gave me and pretended to be a business as I tried every other avenue by pressing 2 (residential) so I could speak to a human and I am now on hold.

I've cancelled both my bank cards with Nat West as I don't know which card I paid my entry with. So annoyed about it. Every Xmas there are tales of post being intercepted by crooked postmen!

I have just reported it to the Post Office finally after spending the best part of an hour trying to speak to someone. I have a reference number and they said regular collections are being made ot that post box. Tt took ten minutes for them to find the post box location, they have it recorded on their system as a post box outside the local post office, the actual post office closed about four years ago and has been a tile shop ever since!

They are forwarding my complaint to the supervisor responsible for that area. When I said that I had spent an hour trying to get hold of someone they said all you have to do is press 4 when you get through, then option one and you come straight through to the complaints team. Have just tried to do that again and I get another recorded message and go round in circles!

My partner has to record his complaint separately! I don't suppose i will hear back from anyone, I will still put a warning on the post box to prevent others from dropping their post off in it if there are any valuable items/cheques/bank details.

I will never send my card details through the post again!
