Evening all!

Tomorrow I am doing mines and my horses first 3ft course at strathearn eventing. Its the first time I have seen a Zig Zag XC fence and Im still a little confused on the best way to ride it. ( looks like the one seen here but smaller http://www.mousleyhousefarm.co.uk/xctrainingfences.htm )

I am think of going slighty left or right of the point in the center of the fence.... I am just looking for some other more experienced riders advice on how to ride it?

My horse isnt "ditchy" and the fence before this one is a straight forward trackener so he will have popped a ditch before this one but I just want to present him in the best way possible to the Zig Zag so he can read it correctly.

thanks for any advice!

Thanks guys - I hung around on the course at that jump and one other person was going to angle it (which I wasnt up for doing) and the other was doing to the left of the point and I just wasnt sure!

I will be going bang in the middle at the far point tomorrow :)

I'm in the same class with my youngster. You can either jump the middle of the jump so it's like an arrowhead, or either jump the left or right handed 'point' so the ditch is infront.

I'm going to jump the left hand side, so have the ditch infront of the fence and the point at the back of the ditch, so it's like i'm riding into a 'V'. If you go for the left hand side you can then turn right after the fence , inside the jump cross fence, round the tree to the table thingy!

Kick on at the blue parallel at number 5 as the colour makes them back off and also they see the water for the first time and can back off.

Good luck, see you there!
