think about having to leave enough room for a fireman to be lying on the floor either long side pointing in (tall firemen about 2m tall and you should be 2.5m from track
) and you should be a good 2 firemen distance from X.
in otherwords just think of lots of hunky firemen lying on the floor and try your hardest not to trample them
sounds good to me although that might distract you (if they hadn't already) from riding your circle!!! but if you fell off least you would have aforementioned hunky firemen to catch you on alternatively land on
*apologises for lowering tone of such an innocent post but you can't say you won't next time you are schooling about how many firemans distance you are from a certain point

Thank you I'm going to be thinking of that at the weekend when I ride my tests. Any good fireman tips for riding 15m circles at E and B in a 20 x 60?

well judge will be looking from C so most important bit is hitting 3/4 line for edge of circle and not getting too close to track so a 15m circle from E you need to get at closest 2 firemen (with hats and boots!) distance from B and vice versa.
The actual width of the cirle is 15m which is 6 firemen, and half therefore and the distance between you and the EB line at your furthest points is 7.5m aka 3 firemen (with hats and boots!).
quick question - can we replace fireman for fit rugby players like Jonny Wilkinson or the bloke I saw this morning who was so gorgeous that I nearly walked into a glass door?

yes as long as nice tall rugby players as they won't have big boots or hats but I belive Mr Wilkinson would fit the bill nicely
