How to stop dog scratching new doors & windows

I've got new windows & doors coming in 2 weeks' time. I also have an 8 month old Rottweiler puppy who is at the stage of scrambling at the doors & windows to come in. (He is ignored until he stops.) He is very big, so can reach the windows. What can I put on the windows & doors to protect them and stop him spoiling them? The older 2 have grown out of scratching but he is still quite energetic.

The back door opens straight into the enclosed stable yard where they play.

All suggestions appreciated!

If you have huge area to protect,run cheap wire fencing line to keep him away from the door etc..
We've used plastic milk crates( free but ugly) wired together, to make temporary barriers around precious plants etc...the joy is when pup is safe,you simply take them to the plastic dump to recycle.
I also dot these milk crates in between my bushes to prevent digging...works a treat.

A fence, an opened out puppy pen, anything that actually stops the puppy being able to reach what you don't want scratched.
