Has anyone used a Shire's grazing muzzle and had problems with it rubbing? My girl has got one but she only had it on for one day in the spring and it rubbed all under her jaw. I could really do with using it again as we are moving fields tomorrow and would rather her be out than having to stay in. She jumped the fence to get into the field last week and gave herself colic! So need to be very carefull. Has anyone stuck and fleece or material on the muzzle and what sort of glue did you use? Any ideas welcome please.

I bought a grazing muzzle for my mare - and it did rub her quite badly. I stitched sheepskin in to it - not really sure whether it was any help or not because ultimately I took it off her full stop when she went to stud.

I sewed a fleece wrap all over mine and it still rubbed. Keep a very careful eye on it because when she went bald in patches I took the muzzle off but she was irritated and scratched her face until it bled. They are good but it ended up costing me £90 in vets bills.

Thanks for the replys, she hasn't had it back on for months but. Thought it would help if it was padded, i will try the gamgee i think. I will see how i get on, if there's any signs of rubbing after an hour it will be straight off and on ebay!
