Hi, Due to the very sad loss of my beautiful boy this week I am now cleaning and putting away all tack, rugs, etc. Does anyone have any good ideas for keeping leather work soft and supple and mold free also the best wat to store it.

So sorry to hear about your loss.

The best place to keep tack is in the house. If it is cleaned and conditioned (C&D conditioning balm is my favorite) then it will stay supple. Just wipe it over with the conditioner every 6 months or so. Bridles can be tucked into coat racks and saddles can make interesting sitting room art!

Sorry to hear about your loss, clearing away the kit is a horrid job.

I have all my leatherwork stored in a plastic crate with snap on lid in a storage room in my house that is not heated. Everything is coated in Ko-cho-line which is messy stuff but the best for keeping leather soft and preventing mold. This way it won't dry out in a too warm room but doesn't go moldy from being outside either.
