I have on hire a pair of easy boot trail. I bought the black medium density 12 mm pads as advised. I hacked out in them yesterday and although they were easy to put on and didn't slip or move or rub I can't tell if they actually fit? I'm worried they might be too tight round the heels but how would I judge this? We didn't canter as the horse I was with (we were the calm escort) was very stressy. What signs would I see if the boots were tight?

in my experience they should be as tight as possible, just check that they haven't rubbed anywhere.

You're best to go for a couple of steady hacks at first to break them in a bit (as we would with new shoes)

I use the gloves and they have to be on as tight as possible. I use a rubber mallet to hammer them! They have never rubbed :)

Yeah if course I hired mine drone the saddlery store. I emailed them photos of his feet with measurements and they selected the most appropriate boot for his shape and they arrived less than 24 hours later! So far so good!
