I have got a welsh B I need to think about selling soon. He is unclipped, looks like a mammoth and very yellowed and generally yuck. I think he just needs to look more "proper pony" than something that has lived out in a bog all winter (which he hasn't of course but looking at him it would be reasonable to think it!)
I don't really want to clip him due to summer coat etc and I don't think his other half owner would want him clipped (she is very traditional/old-fashioned and I don't think has ever had a clipped pony).
Would one of those cotton hoods/rugs/belly sets work to just flatten the coat perhaps if left on overnight? He just looks awful at the moment, in fact small children keep going "look at that donkey" when I hack him out
If he does end up sticking around long enough I would like to take him in working hunter classes (with younger sister riding). With his build is he best off in normal whp all plaited up trimmed etc, or in the mountain and moorland working hunter? I can not decide whether or not to trim feathers and pull tail etc
