I recently bought a half sheepskin numnah off ebay and the seller hasn't even bothered to wash it. It is absolutely disgusting its all greasy and scurfy :(

What is the best way to wash it? I don't know wether I should use washing powder or not!

I usually wash mine in a cool wash with woolite washing stuff then hang up to dry. Once its dry i 'fluff it up' with a dog slicker brush haha, comes up like new!

I just cover mine in cheapo human hair conditioner and chuck in at 30, never had a problem and always comes up well!

I once had a very interesting chat with a guy who owns a woolly jumper company and he told me basically anything that you wash human hair with is fine for washing pure wool.

I ended up just putting it in with some non bio washing powder on a wool cycle. It didn't get rid of the really scurfy bits though :/

I might try the conditioner trick next!

Get one of those metal fine toothed dog combs. Brush a bit of human shampoo through the really dirty bits amd rub a little hair conditioner over all of it. Wash in a nornal 30 degrees wash with a little normal washing powder/gel. Once it's out, rub a bit more hair conditioner into it when still damp and brush through well with the dog comb and let it dry.. It'll come up like new.

Thank you so much kallibear, that looks really helpful! I'll definatley give that a go tomorrow when I have been to the shops to get a dog brush. I should of just bidded on a black one instead of a cream one!!

I rub in human hair conditioner then stick it in the washing machine with some fairy non bio.
Give it a shake when it comes out and leave to dry on an airer and if needs be give it a brush when its dry.
Mines always been fine washed like this.
:-)
