Old cushings lady has now moved to new yard which she is 100xs happier on. She spends 2 hours out in field per dau(1 hour morning, 1 hour evening) and then either fatty pen with soaked hay or in stable with soaked hay(been more stable recently as she is just far too warm in the day!)
She is fed ad lib soaked hay, fast fibre, micronised linseed, pro hoof and nettle with prascend and half a danillon in each feed.

My personal opinion is that I wouldn't want any more on her but she is probably about right now as she is severely lamintic.
Other opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Hahaa?! Oh stupid stupid phone!! They are the right way on my phone :((( can someone turn the photos round for me whose on a PC?

I just turned my tablet upside down - problem solved, lol! Lovely mare, op :)

Oooo! It's easier to quote on new mobile version.
Well I'm glad it sokay for your upside down tablet :D haha. Thanks you :) she is my old lady baby!

Maybe my phone just likes putting things upside down :/

She has cushings and quite severely lamintic so I prefer to keep her leaner, especially since she is having grass. She is completely retired so everything sags abit! Was just wondering people's opinions if this looked an okay/improved condition for a horse like her to be in.

IIRC she's been on box rest for a fair while and it's only recently that she's been turned out for little grazing sessions.

I think that when she is ready, it might do her good to do some short, gentle walks in-hand.

RE her weight, I suspect that you will always need to keep her a bit on the lean side and carefully monitor her diet. It will be a balancing act especially over the winter when you will probably need to up her food just to maintain her weight. Wagtail has a mare in a similar situation to yours, so I would listen to her advice. :)

Thank you. Yeah we are starting little walks around the yard which she loves to take me on! She is naturally very lean anyway, always has been since a baby. This diet seems to be currently okay but anything can change with lamintics.
Wagtails mare looks fantastic, definatly appreciate her advice regarding hooves/lammy care

I'd say for a laminitic she looks fine, slightly less than how they keep the severely laminitic welsh that is at the college I used to go to.

Oh good :) thank you!
