only asking as I had a small nosedive over a jump today when horse tripped over it and I got jolted and my hat slipped a bit onto my forehead. I've got 2 hats and had both of them fitted but I am worried now that if I fall off it will move. It didn't slide onto my nose or anything

but I did have to push it back. Does your hat move?

a bit if I push it but not when riding, now its a year old and the padding has stretched, I have just got some 'hat tape' to pad out the back a bit more and it is now much tighter. even thought the padding isn't thick.

Mine doesn't move around, after a fall I might have to adjust it slightly, but normal jolts and things it doesn't shift. Doesn't move if I bend over with it unfastened either.

I have a champion skull cap though as they fit my massive head best!

Sounds like yours isn't quite right, next time try lots of brands on as they differ in shape and fit.

any tack shop will have it, the hat suppliers give it to them in case they need to make adjustments for fitting. it comes on a roll and it is basically a strip of grey foam with a sticky back and it fits between the lining of your hat and the polystyrene bit so you just fold the lining back to put it in. I haven't stuck mine it yet as am just workin out how long a bit I want

it is for my HS1

champions don't fit me at all! can just about fit a charles owen but they give me headaches. The HS1 is the best fit I have ever found but my hats tend to get gappy at the back and press at the front hence why I need to fill the back a bit on this one now.

My hat has a dial at the back so I can tighten and loosen it.
My old hat used to move. Whenever i went for a canter it would slip over my eyes....Not good!I would start out ok and by the time I pulled up it would be over my eyes...hence it is now my old hat!!

that be the stuff, you won't need much, my local tack shop just let me have some as they get it free from the hat suppliers (well we used to from CO anyway!)

My hat's quite tight, it leaves a red mark on my forehead after I've been wearing it.

It's relatively new though, so it'll probably get roomier as my big sweaty head squishes it. It was the biggest size Shires makes, I have such a huge head!

I do the old tried and tested hang- upside- down- with- hat- unfastened trick....it still stays on.

Although....how often are you supposed to change your hat even if you haven't dropped it or fallen off? (looking for an excuse to buy a new one now......

I've just bought a new CO Pro II because my old one, the padding had compressed right down and it was moving. New one doesn't budge and is really comfy
