I have ordered a course of adequan intra muscular injections for my horse who has arthritis. Hopefully will start the course in a couple of days when it arrives.
Can anyone tell me, as a novice if you can inject it into the rump? or does it have to be in the neck?
I am asking because my friend (who will show me) can do rump injections, but has never done neck ones.
I will call out the vet to show me if the only site is into the neck.
thanks

I/M can be neck, rump or best for novices into muscle of chest ,this site is better than neck as less likely to cause reaction, easier than rump if horse difficult or you are alone.
I have injected this treatment by doing either side of chest[1st/2nd jab]each side of rump[3rd/4th jab]
Be confident if doing your own horse as there is a risk of reaction if you dont get it right.

I've just finished injecting my horse with a course of Adequan. The vet showed me how and I was told to inject into the neck.
