How would a sarcoid effect a foals value?

As title would you buy a foal who had a sarcoid removed at 6 months? It has been left with some discoloured hair but at 12 months no saricods.
Just wondered for a friend considering this as I have no experience of it and wondered if its the same as sarcoids in an older horse and how would it effect the value in the current market?
Its to make 15.2 - 16h filly out of eventing stallion (up to novice) and draught mare.
Any opinions welcome!
 
It would have to be extremely cheap. I might take a gamble on a foal that had top class breeding & otherwise worth a fair bit. But not for a cheaper price for an average horse.
 
That was what I thought apparently its around £900 which seems an awful lot to me compared to what's out there....
 
Yes it would affect the value I would think half that.
Sarcoids are difficult because they can be from took it off that was that to several expensive treatment to get rid of them to an utterly catastrophic problem and you just can't tell .
I think your friend needs to understand the costs of treatments fund they come back andif she's prepared to take the risk but I would not pay £900.
I buy adults with sarcoids if I like them enough what I say to myself is would I still be happy is this horse cost £1500 more i make my offer based on that.
 
Id have to think very, very carefully about such a purchase I'm afraid.

Is your friend sure it was a sarcoid??
 
Its all rather odd maybe contacting the vet directly might be in order...! Either which way its definately as I thought dear!
 
Very cheap, although personally wouldn't buy one which has previously had Sarcoids.
Be aware too that if your friend purchases and plans to insure, that Sarcoids will be excluded from the policy.
 
I wouldn't pay £900 for that baby! and how does your friend know that other sarcoids won't come up as the filly gets older!? i wouldn't risk it, there are so many good value horses around at the moment, im sure something without sarcoids will come along!
 
I agree that she'd prob get something else for the same price without the sarcoids

Imagine the heart ache in 3-4 yrs time if she's put all the hard work , blood , sweat and tears into bringing up a youngster , falls in love with it then the sarcoids return :(
I know that is worst case sinario but that would be far too much a gamble for me to take
