Last week I was toying with the idea of selling one of my boys. Basically I wanted another youngster to bring on, but I have had a change of heart as I know my boy and he is a sweetie does everything I want and is a nice person, easy to do, good doer etc...I have come to the conclusion that I may end up with something else totally unsuitable, and TBH I can't really be bothered to back another one!! The only reason I wanted to sell was a purely selfish one of wanting a better looking horse. I have really had a think now, and handsome is as handsome does - He is safe, forward and fun, he's staying now.......so bear with me, here is my dilemma.......
I was approached by someone wanting a horse for a teenager to ride (not loan or buy just ride) I said he could be ridden and was for sale etc etc, but now he is staying my friend is taking over the ride and it's not fair to them for strangers to ride as the horse has got to know and trust my friend really well and we don't want to risk an episode at this stage. Plan is for me to ride him when he is more established. SO I know the teen will be disappointed so how do I let them down gently, without hurting feelings??
