Someone had lied and told their parents they had fallen from your horse and not their own. Just found a friend told her parents she fell off my horse as didn't want her parents to know it was hers as they would want her to sell it. Will just add said fall resulted in a broken vertebrae so months off riding etc etc. I feel a bit shocked a little annoyed and quite frankly a bit upset as my girl has never had anyone off (except me in her more youthful days :) ) but am I just over reacting?

I couldn't care less unless this caused people to go around badmouthing my horse.
If they did then I would have something to say.

That would really annoy me as well but can understand why if her parents would genuinely make her sell her horse.

My concern would be that by not having told her parents the truth she could be heading for more problems in the future. What happens when she falls off again?

As a parent I would be bothered if my child lied to me about such a serious matter.

And yes, I 'd be annoyed that your horse was falsely blamed.

I'd be really annoyed to have my horse associated with that accident and would put the correct information forward to the parents immediately regardless of what they may or may not do with her horse.

Although I think it's a horrible thing to do, you could be sued by her parents. This injury could have repercussions for years and may come back to haunt you, cover your own back as soon as you can.
