how young is too young to start riding ?

Just wondering really. My little girl is nearly one - I'm not planning on starting her for a while but when did anyone else start their little ones off ? there are several neighbours with shetlands who have said she can ride them whenever and wondered if anyone could share their experiences of 'too early' or whatever has worked for them ? thank you

I was first put on a horse when I was three days old... and started riding properly, unled when I was two on a very special pink pony called Raspberry!

I think it depends on the child, the horse etc., but I can't remember a time before horses and am very grateful to my parents for that!

I think it completely depends on the child!

I wanted to start when I was 2, but had to start when I was around 4 or 5 because that was the only age a RS would take me xx
