Im getting the clippers out on coblet about once a week so eventually I can clip his legs all year round withour sedation...were getting there! Today I got the clippers out and decided to get rid of those long scraggley hairs on his tummy that never seem to malt off!

Now they're off i seem to think he's looking quite well?! He's 372 on the weightape, which is our target weight, once he went upto 420  I never trust the weigh tape though, it always seems to change!

Anyway, how's he looking? :)

Can you feel his ribs easily? Personally I'd have him slimmer, but I like them fit and trim.

He looks very neglected..... I think you better hand him over to me to take care of :D:D

Be my guest ;) Hes a devil in disguise really :D

Yes JFTD, I thought he could loose a teeny bit more...were working on it, he's on minimal grass in the day and a small soaked haynet at night, with a handful of chaff with his meds in :)

I think he looks ok, wouldn't want him any fatter. Sounds like you have him on a very sensible diet. Oh and he is gorgeous too!

I find cobs are hard to judge, mine for instance has to have a "covering" on his bottom as if he loses this he is all ribs and sticky out bones. Not a good look!

He looks great! My mare is on a diet too, and I couldn't really tell that she had lost any to look at her, even though the tape said she has lost 30kg so far! Then I clipped her belly, got rid of the long hairs, and a slim waist appeared, lol!
I'm very jealous, my 2 coloureds have white tails! I swore that when I bought a youngster I wanted a dark solid colour with maybe a small sock or 2, but somehow ended up with a skewbald that has a white tail and legs. Or yellow tail and legs, I should say! x

Thanks,
Laura-C, yes we too said we weren't going to buy anything that had mainly White, especially white tail and legs! Were lucky with his tail, although it's about 20x the thickness of an average tail! Takes loads of detangler and about half an hour to brush!!

I'd personally be happy with him like that. But that's just me, I prefer them still covered like that but fit as far as workload goes :)
