I know I always do "how's she looking" threads but I am genuinely interested in other peoples opinions and like to know if I'm right in thinking she needs more muscle here or there. Ethel has been back in work since new years day I think, schooling and hacking, have had some lessons and shes coming along nicely :) Here she is, pic taken yesterday ..

She always stands like that, you can't really see but her hocks are close together and her feet point out. She always been like it but it doesnt affect the way she moves/works.

I would like more muscle on neck, across back and quarters. Coat looks good for time of year.
Please don't take offence, but imo her stance and hind leg conformation WILL directly affect how she works and moves. Will make it much harder for her to gain muscle in desirable places if she compensates for less than ideal legs. Cannot be truly comfortable carrying a rider if she won'tlet her hind cannon bones be vertical. Sorry don't shoot me!

Yea, to me she looks a bit tucked under too. I would get someone out to do some body work on her whether it be chiro/physio/equissage/bowen etc just to see if they can help get her standing a bit more normally. As HardySoul1 said, it will affect her movement. If she moves well now, imagine what she would be like with everything sitting correctly.

Just as an example, roll your pelvis up towards your belly button and try and walk/run/jump etc like that. It's not a natural way of moving.

I would like to see more topline, neck muscle and IMO her bum could do with some muscling up. She is quite a sweet looking horse, however her stance is a bit of a worry.

ETA: I love her name! :) She looks like an Ethel..

I wont be shooting anyone! Lol. I put the pics up and although I didn't ask for conformation criticism I always expect to get it! I have always worries about her legs as they are odd, front legs are back/over at the knee (I never remember which is which!) and her back legs point out and her hocks are close. I was planning on getting someone out to her soon anyway so I will have a chat with her about that and see what she says.
Regarding muscle, you've said what I was thinking so that's something at least :)
Naenae, she is a lovely honest little thing, very sweet :) thanks, she was named after Ethel in eastenders as her field mate when they were yearlings was named Dot

I've just stared at her for a while and to me she doesnt look that bad in real life so I've taken another pic to see if she looks any better to you guys ..
