Personally am really chuffed with how he is coming along but do have slightly rose tinted glasses on where he is concerned
Basic story is he is a 3 year old ex flat racer, bought him unseen from Yorkshire as his owner had replied to a wanted ad I had posted. He arrive one sunday afternoon looking very tucked up and I did start to reconsider what I had done
Photo above is after a couple of days with me.
Gave him a couple of weeks out just eating and mooching about which seemed to go down very well
Then bought him back in and started with the bringing on business
First some random tack as all my stuff was too big for him
He also had some odd looking skin, very dry and flaky and generally not at all healthy plus the fact he was totally clipped out so there was no protection from rugs etc so we had a little visit from the vet and some v expensive shampoo and thankfully it seems to have gone now.
we continued to do alot of this
and occasionally came up for air
and we hacked out like a pro on our own and in company and did a little bit in the school

(no cc on the rider - was a potential new mum having a go )
and plenty of bullying the big brother

Unfortunately big brother got his own back and chased him so hard he went lame
Thankfully though now back sound and field hierachy settled a bit more
we continued to do alot of this still
we went in the scary indoor school for the first time and rather than be scared we spent most of the time flirting with ourselves in the mirrors
We unfortunately have a bit of an issue with the farrier so sedalin is a new best friend for the moment - it also gives mum a chance to do mean things
also made some new friends
He has continued to hack out really well both alone and in company ,good with traffic - just working on the standing still malarky
We do little bits in the school and will work well alone or company and already offers some baby outline steps. He also works happily over trot poles and has done a couple of tiny jumps. Currently on his hols although comes in tomorrow to be neatened up for his first show next saturday as both him and his bro are currently sporting the 'we are native tb's and we can live out ' look so they both have a date with the clippers, solo comb etc
and this is him today - his weight is starting to become more consistent as he has been a bit yo yo over the past few weeks
Any comments more than welcome as it can be hard to see where you are going when to are doing something like this solo
'TB's -nope - only donkeys here '
and just because otherwise he will feel left out
think he may have heard something
