Hey all, I was just wondering if you could let me know how you think Wings looks? He's been on box rest for 9 days, and hadn't coped very well, but I think he's coming out of it looking relatively good. He has a belly, that does improve with riding, slightly, but is something he has always had, and it has nothing to do with his weight; he has it all year round.

He gets 2 small feeds a day at the minute, so he gets his bute and other supplements, but once he lives out, this is being dropped down to one small feed of Fast Fibre and a sprinkle of Alfa A.

Here's the picture:

He is going out again tomorrow, as he is now sound, so is allowed off bute and box rest :D

Thanks for any comments/advice!

He looks like a nice sort :) Looks like he has quite a round belly but mine does at the minute too :p Bet he can't wait to get back out!

Thanks! His belly should improve as he gets worked everyday, and harder now that he's sound.

Oh yeah, he has been going mental while staying in, he's actually been pretty horrible haha. I don't blame him, as there is one pony in his barn that is in through the day, but at night he is on his own, bless him. He's also been lunged ever 2 days, and has dragged me around the arena on those days, tail swishing, shaking his head, just generally being crazy.

I think I want him to go out just as much as he does now! :D

I think he's looking lovely , I wouldn't want to see him any bigger - having said all that he's mostly plump on the back end ( disregarding the belly ) which will hopefully lose a bit once you get him riding again. It's amazing how much walking they do just being turned out , so i'm sure he'll start to shape up. He's got a nice neck shape , from what the photo shows , no crest on the neck to speak of , and thats usually a tell tale sign of being over weight.
