Apparently there's a bit in the current H&H about RH Zinderella - an Arab mare who was 5th at HOYS this year.

She's a grand-daughter of my first horse, the Crabbet Arab stally General Lee Gold (I posted a thread about him recently).

I'm still great friends with Zinderella's breeder, who also bred her dam RH Ziona, by GLG out of Zilati's Jewel (close line-breeding to Orion/Oran). Ziona was a prolific winner in ridden Arab classes - seems to have passed this talent on to her daughter.

My friend is very pleased with the 'legacy' from GLG at her stud, and is still breeding from this line.

She now has a mare in foal to Tobago.... Watch this space!

(I'm still sick and can't get out to get a copy of H&H - did anyone see the bit about Zinderella? Apparently the photo is awful but it's a nice piece.)

Thank you so much for posting the article prittstick!

Dreadful photo - makes her head look a mile long! But so nice to read about one of my old boy's grandchildren doing well.

GLG only sired a few foals (too busy eventing, etc., and I never really had the right set-up) but several have gone on to be good performance horses - one called Darrar (or something like that - Dahrar?) did v well in endurance, I think.

But Ziona, the dam of Zinderella, was his biggest star - a stunning big powerful mare, very hard to beat in the ridden classes.

This is General Lee Gold - for anyone who missed my previous thread about him:

He wasn't as pretty or 'exotic' as Tobago - more the old-fashioned Crabbet type - but he was a brave, tough little horse. I still miss him.
