Hubby says I have to change Holly's dog food or get rid of her as she has really bad wind smells, she is on wainwrights salmon and potato.any suggestions to what I can give her, she is a staffy. Thanks

Have you considered getting rid of the husband... Or providing him with a peg?!

Charcoal tablets may help, assuming you need all your pegs for laundry purposes...

it is worth changing onto a different food but if that does not work it may be a sign of too much protein or a health problem, I agree the OH would go if that was his attitude-Oooops he did I am single with 2 kids 3 dogs 2 ferrets and 2 horses ;-)

i have known of dogs with issues with both potato and fish. any fish gives my dog grose farts! he is on turkey and rice of duck and rice hypoallergenic food (skinners, but loads of brands do similar versions), which seems to stop his bad stomach

I had this problem with my dog, switched her to skinners field and trial (orange bag) and never had any problems since. So now the boyfriend can't blame smells on her ;)

I use JWB turkey n rice and none have wind problems , even the bulldog who are renowned for stinking lol.

Ps if hubby was serious I'd get rid of him .

Obviously something in the food isn't agreeing with her digestion, could be potatoes, salmon or something else, may even be treats/chews instead. My lad doesn't get on well with any chicken kibble, tried a few with same paint peeling outcome & soft poops. Within day or 2 of changing to a salmon kibble it improved he still farts but it rarely smells bad. Charcoal biscuits, natural yoghurt/probiotics can help but I'd look at changing what she's eating tbh.
