Have had a horrible morning so far. Got woken up at half 5 by noises coming from the stables, thought someone had got cast so jumped out of bed and rushed down to the yard. Discovered Spooks had got his hay bar down and was pawing away at it trying to get the hay from underneath. Sorted that out and threw them somemore hay and went back to bed!

Got up again and chucked the youngsters out, went to get Jerry in from the field (he lives out at night to keep the edge off) He was lying flat out in the field, couldnt get him up. Got some help, and finally managed to get him to his feet, he then couldnt weightbear at all on his off fore. Took me ages to get him in, leg is huge and he has a high temp. Vet should be here in 20 minutes hopefully, never seen him look so sorry for him self

Oh god. Got everything crossed for you. Hopefully he's being dramatic and has got an abscess- I've seen them in this much pain for big abscesses......

Oh God. I hope he is ok. Hopefully he has just got something minor but painful like Boss says. HUGE vibes coming your way xx

Sounds like lymphangitis to me, im sure it is some sort of infection from what you describe, he will be as right as rain soon im sure.

Vet has been, clipped his leg and found a tiny hole over his pastern, she thinks it is either a really bad case of cellulitis or an infection in the pastern joint. She didnt risk taking a sample from the joint due to the amount of swelling around it, she said she would end up introducing an infection if there wasnt already one there. So he had some intravenus antibiotics and painkillers, and I have some more to give him tomorrow, she wants him to be at least 50% better by tomorrow morning, otherwise she thinks it would be a joint infection

She has put him on the most expenisve but strongest antibiotics, as she wants to treat it as if it is in the joint.

Thanks so much everyone for the vibes, keep them coming, I cant lose this one
