So after a unwanted dismount on Thursday where my shoulder hit the ground at speed I am out of hospital & on box rest.

Living in a Covid Very High area I am confined to my house with no visitors ?. I do live with my hubby & Cockapoo so not alone, thank goodness.

Any recommendations on keeping sane, I will read, watch Netflix and keep in touch with family & friends but any suggestions on other things would be fantastic.

anybody done any horse related (or other useful) online courses?

Any tips, advise would be most grateful.

Updated to add: broken right Clavicle so movement limited as I’m right handed ?

I am sorry to hear of your injury.

I watch Monkey Business on Sky. It is old now, but if you put it into search then it comes up. When that finishes, I watch Monkey life as it is the same, continued program.

It is all abut the ape rescue centre in Dorset. I love to keep up daily with the place, it is absorbing.

Jigsaws - preferably ones with a horsey theme - easy to do one-handed.
Study something new - whatever takes your fancy.

Do you have Amazon? There are quite a few good box sets on there - The Marvellous Mrs Maisel and This is Us are both very watchable and not too taxing if you're feeling a bit under the weather. Worth signing up for a month's free trial if you don't.

Audiobooks might also be useful as you don't have to hold a book - I listen to them on a long journey in the car but can't at home as I fall asleep and miss most of the plot!

I'd also take the opportunity to nap as much as possible - sleep is so good for healing and I imagine you get woken up a few times in the night with the pain so take the sleep when you can.

Audio books? I like jigsaw too asTrouper suggested.
Loads of great stuff on BBC sounds to listen to. Some suggestions to get you started...

The News Quiz (the radio version which led to Have I got news for you)
The Unbelievable Truth (very funny)
John Finnemore's souvenir programme
Cabin Pressure (with Stephanie Cole, Roger Allam and Benedict Cumberbatch)
Annika Stranded
Beef and Dairy network
A Charles Paris Mystery

Honestly, there's tonnes of stuff to listen to.

I love Cabin Pressure, I just wish they had made more before the attempt to put it on TV.

Oooh I love a jigsaw! And a good book series that really gets your attention. I also really enjoy crosswords!

Years ago I did an online university course in equine nutrition which was interesting. I confess that I can't remember many of the facts but it helped reinforce some of the more basic knowledge in my mind. I think there are quite a few options now.

Also, I sort of hate to say it, but how about some Christmas planning? I had the panic that comes with not being prepared so I have already started researching gift ideas online. It would be something to take up some time for you now (you could even get things wrapped) which would free up some time for you when you are up and running again. I quite enjoy the challenge of thinking up gifts for people which I think they'll really like or use.

Just finished a month of box rest/restricted turnout myself after similar! Was feeling too rough for my contingency plan (if I'm ever laid up I will...) on top of a full time job, but I'd hoped to look at some starter courses in bit and bridle fitting, it's come so far since I last did any proper horsey studying, and there's definitely some around. I did a lot of dozing, very slow and painful housework, (to be fair, I always find housework painful) and starting to plan Christmas; and pointless online games that required no brain involvement. Wishing you a quick recovery and no need for sedalin...
