My parents are throwing away big tubs of Cod liver oil capsules 1,000mg. I know someone at my yard who feeds cod liver oil from the bottle, can she feed the capsules? I guess they would have to be burst first? Bit of a daft question but I have no idea! Just seems silly to waste them all....

I work for a vitamins company and horse rescue centres ask us for donations of them and glucosamine tablets... As do zoos and other animal rescue centre's. Take from that what you will! Mine gets human glucosamine, garlic and biotin tablets as well. And friends horse gets human lemon flavoured glucosmaine and CLO liquid!

codlivine??

People arent saying that the problem is the human tablets but that fish products in their opinion shouldnt be given to horses. Codlivine would fall under that umbrella for them in the same way the capsules would so they would disapprove of Codlivine too

Just because they make someyhing for horses it doesnt mean its nevessarily suitable

Me personally? I wouldnt feed fish oil but plenty do

OP i have fed capsules whole in the past but not big ones (bigger than a pea) and some of the cod liver oil ones are huge!
