Just bought a new horse lovely on the ground and being ridden only 6 but a very green 6 - been out during the day and in at night. Is not going out full time till June. She was getting caught lovely at first and then took on the dominant mare and won. Now won’t catch and has kicked out at me and caught me a couple of times and now can’t catch it without it spinning and trying to kick me. Now have to bring everything in to catch it. As soon as it’s caught it’s good as gold as though nothing has happened. I want to be able to pull it in and ride whenever which is obviously not going to happen at the moment. Any ideas on what I could do or what others have done in this situation would love your help

Obviously make sure you never approach from behind, approach quietly and not calling/waving lead ropes headcollars etc…assuming this isn’t working I would make a smaller paddock within the field to put her in, leave a field safe or leather headcollar on her and spend time in the paddock with her…approaching, giving her a rub then retreating…finally catching her and giving a tiny treat..a slice of apple. Make the catching in pleasant. Other people will have loads of other tips and be along shortly. Best of luck and keep away from the flying feet.
