Human: Osteo or Chiro? Posture!

So I started my first sit down/office job last year. I’ve worked in pubs and retail before hand so was always up and moving all day. The other day I went to a show and by midday of being stood up my back was irritating me. To say my riding position has suffered is an understatement! My posture has taken such a hit. If I was to go and see a specialist which would you recommend? Osteo or chiro? (Or other!). I’m 24 and would rather get it sorted before I do any more damage and suffer later.

I use a physio who uses some manipulation techniques as well.

The right type of exercise is also very helpful, I use a combination of weights, cardio, stretching and mobilisation which seem to stave off the stiffness whilst keeping me strong

You need to learn how to keep your body in a correct alignment. There is no quick fix but if you are willing to invest the time and money a course of Alexander lessons would set you on the right track for life.

IME the actual profession doesn't matter it just has to be a good one.
I get best results from a physio that also manipulates, and unfortunately lives in bristol while I am in Cambridge

I embrace bad posture a bit more these days, that works better for me.

I would see an osteopath to get manipulated back into some sort of comfort. I would also do Pilates because that is incredibly helpful for riding. It is also worth looking at Anatomy In Motion (look up Gary Ward, it is fascinating), I did a course earlier this year and it has made much more aware of my movement.

See osteos have never got me 'straight' and have admitted so, I've had improvement but not to the extent of the other two which is why I think it depends so much on person.
Current chiro exists for convenience from work, on thursday she said Im doing it this way as it won't aggravate it... that's another thing to add to the notes it definitely does. :rolleyes:
