Hi just an off chance but does anyone know about the tendons or ligaments in the heel of the hand??

I keep going between losing feeling in my left hand and having serious pain so bad that I cant grab, use, move my left hand/fingers.

I can actually fell something in the heel of my hand just above the wrist, it feels different to the other one and there is a lump under the skin.

Anyone know what this could be??

This sounds very similar to the problem I have in my left wrist. It began as a break about 18 months ago, then was made worse when I got my wrist wrenched in a horse related incident last year. I don't know if it has a name, have had steriod injection (which I did NOT like) I am currently wearing a splint (well some of the time) and have to go back to the hostpital next week.

This sounds like something I had a couple of years ago after spending an entire summer hauling countless water buckets and barrowloads of poo too and fro from the field. The doctor told me it was called a Ganglion - there is not any real treatment for it other than rest - apparently in olden days they used to hit the lump 'back in' with a hammer! LOL!

Mine was about a third of the size of the one in the picture accompanying this article;

I think that now they might to some sort of injection to try and minimise it, although I am not sure. Mine has gone, but it does pop up occasionally if I am doing something particularly hard work.

the loss of sensation is a little worrying (but could be completely benign) & suggests it is a nerve problem not tendon. i agree that it could be CTS but think you do need to get it checked out.

Hi,
Glad to see you went to get it checked out, I heard you get these things from constant computer activity, You should invest in a mousemat with a wrist rest on them - they do wonders :) If you work in an office or with computers this can be the cause, So I have heard!
Ofcourse - This is just a guess but I hope you are able to sort it out soon.
