They are generally too big for little noses, I find they can be useless on many, even some horses as they seem to slip,I am not sure they are really any more "humane " than a traditional twitch.
I've never used one as I don't like the look of them really, would prefer to use my hand if possible, better still on the neck, but would would resort to a traditional twitch if I really needed to.
