Just when I think I'm getting the hang of this riding lark along comes a horse to teach me a new lesson! I had an assessment lesson today so that I can hack out at a local school. It all seemed quite straightforward really. I fully acknowledge that I am very much a novice But I have never had a problem getting the horse to ride circles or bends, leastwise not recently. Then along comes Charlie a rather sturdy cob who makes a total fool of me. At one point he kept riding into the corner and stopping then it was turning right instead of left or straight instead of turning. I know he was telling me something probably that my one sidedness was an issue for him. The RI said she'd never seen him do this before either. I passed as competent anyhow so I can now hack out with their Sunday am group through Charnwood and the Beacon. Let's hope it dosent involve 20meter circles!
