Hope this is photoshopped... mainly due to wording....

''You can bet that moonwalking pony couldn’t jump over a car. Watch and learn shorty. Channel4's new trail for The Grand National is coming!''

must be photoshopped, what would of happened if it failed to clear the cars...:o

Isn't doing much for the general image of the grand national if the fb comments are to go by....

They jump cars at Badminton and burghley etc?

Though event horses tend to make a nicer shape and clear the jump rather than racehorses jumping hurdles quite flat and item literally going through them!

Yes that is all I was thinking, jump racers 'expect' some give in a fence... whereas eventers know the fences are solid as such... could of gone horribly wrong if just a pr stunt....

Not a particularly massive 'fence' for a decent jumper - significantly smaller than top level eventing.

If it left a leg it would have hit the curved metal bonet. Risky. Perhaps no more risky that a solid stone wall though?

Wouldn't tackle it myself but on a really good (and clean) jumping horse, probably not out of the question.... (prepares to be shouted down).

Its more the wording riling up the cruelty pack, I think I expected more 'pony patting' PR and less gung ho after the response last year....

I would suspect that horse is an event horse, dressed as a hurdler and jockey the same. Those cars are nothing compared to the Mitsubishis at badminton.

I can't imagine anyone professional would allow that to be done with a real racehorse.

There was an item on North West tonight about the making of a film with stunt jockeys for the grand national, they 'set up' a course making the horses to appear to race through some unusual situations, including a market!

Looks ps. colours of horse/rider is a few shades different to the background

Although not impossible to be true, would just be hoping for a better shape as above!

I saw it on the north west news too - they are making an advert for the grand national and setting it up like they are racing through the streets of Liverpool. They are stunt riders, and the scenes are set up for the advert.
