... Another saddle post, sorry!!! Just wondering if firstly anyone can tell me what they payed to get their saddled adjusted by Barry himself? Also, did you get it checked once it returned???

Lastly and most importantly, it would appear compared to other saddles, people do not wish to part with such lovely saddles as I am struggling to find second hand GP's in a 17" so does anyone know any websites I might not have tried?

i got my 17.5" Swaine GP on eBay, absolute bargain. they do come up on there now and then. i got 2 dressage saddles too, 1 for a friend, 1 for me, but it's too narrow for my horses... don't suppose that would do would it?! it's an older one so i'm loath to get it adjusted, prob should though.
as for cost of alteration... umm, it depends if it needs flock adjusting, or whole re-flock, or just width altering. if the latter, not very expensive. i'm struggling to remember but £35 or £50, really can't recall which, this was a good few years ago though and I went there a lot. it was £70 once but needed flock adjusting etc that time. depends how long it takes to do really. Barrie has a team of saddlers there who do a great job on alterations etc.
if you are really struggling to find one and your horse is a pretty standard Medium you could borrow my GP, I'm not using it at the moment, but if 17.5 is much too big for you that's a no-go.
 
Thanks Kerilli, site looks very useful, not came across that till now. They even have a nice 17" jump saddle cheap but might wait around to see if they get a GP.

Also, thanks ever so much but 17.5 when I had chrio out to do back and check saddle said would be too big on her. I keep checking ebay too so fingers crossed I can grab a bargain soon :)
 
I have a 17 inch black half panel standard tree Barry Swain Saddle. It is brand new. I bought it from him years ago but have never had it fitted to a horse. I was going to put it on ebay, as my circumstances have changed and the horse I wanted it for has to be sold. I have 7 Barry saddles, I absolutely love them and would never put another on my horses.
