So I’ve resisted getting Scout chemically castrated. His behaviour generally is great now.
But… on the shoot wagon he’s a sex pest. I travel in with him so he can be on a lead and kept by me but he will stand there and hump the air. His willy isn’t out and tbh he just looks embarrassed. If I nudged him and say stop it he does, but it instantly starts again. Even when he’s unloading he walks forward doing it.
He’s embarrassed, I’m embarrassed! It is, I think, more general arousal than sex specifically but… is the implant the only option?

Ha just watching daughter's 6 month old lab trying to hump every other dog. He stops when told to but think it's hormones kicking in.
Seems to do it when over stimulated too.

Redirection, rewarding not doing it and trying to avoid too many situations where he is over threshold (I understand it's not easy when working him). He may improve with age/habituation to shoot days and travelling in the wagon. Castration chemical or surgical is unlikely to have any effect on that particular behaviour

Just out of interest… I took him to a smaller shoot yesterday where we travel with one other person and his dogs (bitches in this case) in a supplied car. No humping, no sniffing, no pestering. Absolutely relaxed and much happier in his face all day.
Which is a PITA as actually he is needed on the big shoot days! I might try and mix it up a bit so he can relax sometimes as well, and hope he improves.
