Most excited to hopefully taking my cob hunting for the first time in December, the meet is next door so no excuses! i cant get anyone to come with me so am going it alone, i am sure there will be some friendly people i can tag along with at the back :)
However i don't have a hunting coat or anything warm enough to go in! the only coat i have is my showing tweed or navy thin one, i will freeze for sure! i don't want to buy a hunt coat though not until i know for sure i will get wear out of it............so i had a look on eBay and even the 2nd hand ones seem to be fetching alot. What i have found though are some heavy woolen winter jackets/blazers that look like a hunt coat only they are either vintage or non horsey. They are alot cheaper too.........i was thinking if i changed/added the buttons i may get away with it?
Here are a few i spotted

Ive done 2 hunts so far. The 1st was a beginners meet and i wore a thin 'normal' navy show jacket and the 2nd time a thin black show jacket and i was far from cold!!!! After galloping through afew fields i was roasting, but did have my body protector on.

Could you put thermals on under the show jacket instead of buying a new one?

Cant see the problem with using one of those jackets as long as it looks reasonable.

I believe one of my friends had a day's hunting out in a jacket she bought from TK Maxx!
