What to wear to a Hunt puppy show? Also in the hunting forum!

The theory is that the hunt have spent ages 'scrubbing up' so to be respectful you have to look as if you have tried.
I wouldn't go over the top - leave that to the ladies who are the serious hunt ladies, puppy walkers, etc but the lowest is jeans and a really smart shirt and jacket, but preferably a skirt, some wear dresses and there are a scattering of hats.
But the main and most competitive thing about the Puppy Show isn't the dogs (they are all great) its the cakes, which lots of very organised ladies make. Oh my, I wouldn't eat for a few days beforehand and make sure that you somehow sneak a doggy bag in to take a few away for later.
