Hello. I have a very kind ISH, quite big, but athletic. He is very responsive and not strong, hacking in a snaffle with a lozenge, and hunting and team chasing in a continental loose ring Waterford, reins on the main ring.
I use the Waterford as he has a bit of a habit of dropping his head lower and lower when cantering/galloping. He has seen the chiropractor recently and teeth are fine.
I am doing a long hunt race on him soon, and I don't want him or me to waste energy bring his head back up, I want him to be concentrating on the fences and the route, not the ground!
I don't want to make any huge changes, as the race is soon, but any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks, Ellie.
