Hunter boots or Splats ??

Has any one bought Splats for there kids ? With all the rain I am thinking of Christmas gift ideas. These seem like a fun & hip alternative to the more traditional welly's.
I think I would be very unpopular if I gave a green pair of Hunters as a gift.

Love the colour range of the Splats BUT I adore the look of Hunters!
Picked up a short pair of Hunters in Red for my youngest in TK Maxx for €22 a few wks ago - also you don't need to get the Hunters in Green, they have a wide range of colours now, saw a pair in a bright shiny purple last wk - they are on my Santa list:D

Thanks for the tip re Hunter colours Ill have a look. The Splats do look funky the thing I liked is they sound like they are much more flexible and look rather funky.
 
It depends what kind of use theyre for really. Hunters are no good any more for anything more than light use, they are a festival/fashion wellie now, unless you get the ones at the upper ££ end of their range which I believe have better reviews.

Ive seen the spats and they were certainly colourful, but havent heard what they are like in use.

The splats look more flexible would seem to have multi use. Decisions decisions.....
