Wasn't sure where the best place to post this is so decided to start with you guy's.

I'm seeking advice re Hunter breeding classes, this year i have produced my filly at home and my sister has shown her. She had never been in a show ring before and i haven't shown at county for nearly 20 years!!!! This was our first year showing at county and Nationals so has been a very steep learning curve for us.

My filly is rising three and again, i want to get her seen in 2009, my question is for the hunter breeding classes is it worth looking at getting professional producer to show her??? This year we were placed every time out but always missed first place to a producer. Would it be wiser to save my money this year and take her out ourselves again and look at production to bring her out under saddle???

The next question would need to be can anyone recommend producers in the midlands??? or futher afield???

I've added this link to a pic of her.

Would anyone with contact details please Forward them to me via PM many thanks.

Hi, we also aim to get the youngsters out in the youngstock hunter classes, but competition at county level is very high.
We have found in recent years that the youngsters are just getting so so big- we were the smallest in this year's 4yo at the GYS with a 16.1hh, and therefore out of the running anyway.
It would be worth thinking about getting a producer to show it, they always seem to muster more attention, but I would say it could largely be for the wrong reasons- showing should, as I have always said, be about the animal, and not who is showing it.

It's so frustrating, we only did three county's and came home with two thirds and a second but stood under producers every time.

At National level we stood under spanish judge imported for the show and won!!! we had some very good company from some of the top studs, on the score sheets nothing was even close to us. We then went on to reserve champ and were only .5 of a mark off of the champion.

She's such a lovely girl, that she should have the credit she deserves.
