What is Hunters like as a dressage venue? Never been as its a bit outside of our usual radius of venues.

What is parking like?
Is it busy at the weekend?
What are warmup and test arenas like?
Do they have a cafe or anything?

Thanks!

The place is really pretty and neat and tidy. Parking is good but they don't like it if you tie your horses up outside and you are not allowed Haynets outside the lorries. They also say to pick up plaiting bands etc.

Arena wise the outside is lovely. The warmup can get busy as they run two arenas but the steward helps with that. I think most people hate the indoor, it is really dark (only 20x40 plus space for the judge) and horses do not go well in it!

There is a steward around so always on time!

Lovely venue. And I haven't heard anyone complain the indoor is dark or that they hate it. Quite the opposite... it's light and airy. Give frank and Sue a call. They have lots of rules but it is well run, friendly and they go out of their way to run a nice event foreveryone from amateur to pro.

Lovely venue, very professionally run and kept immaculate :-) Frank and Sue are really friendly and helpful. Surfaces and arenas are excellent. Plenty of parking. Indoor is light but can feel a little tight. I get mixed results from my mare in there, sometimes goes beautifully, sometimes decides the walls are going to swallow her up lol! Highly recommend as a venue. You do get some very big names competing their youngsters, my friend warmed up with CD once :-) but you get just as many amateurs as you do pros so I've never felt out of place or intimidated. http://huntersequestrian.co.uk/

Do mega cake but no hot food. Is very well run and others have said get lots of well known people there. Our ex racehorse split a horse of Charlotte Dujardin's and one ridden by Olivia Oakley last year so when those horses are famous he can brag about that.

Ooo he likes cake so that might be enough of a bribe! Do like idea of rubbing shoulders with CDJ (though hopefully not literally in warm up arena!).

Might wait too my new boy is a little more confident at shows though as not sure I'd be able to tack him up on the lorry yet as he settles much more tied up outside!

You can tie outside the lorry just can't leave them unattended or munching on a haynet :-) If you look on their website they also do ride in days where you have access to all the arenas for an hour which can be very useful. Good luck with your new boy!

Love it as a venue and wish it were closer to me! It is always immaculate there almost to the point of feeling afraid to do anything but they are very friendly and helpful. I've never had an issue with the indoor. Just remember no dogs allowed.
