I have lost my stock. I had it last time I went hunting ages ago in November, then moved house and lost it, and the stock pin. It was a navy stock with white spots, which I wore with a brown tweed jacket. I am going out again in a couple of weeks and need to purchase a new stock, but am unsure whether my preference would be frowned upon on the hunting field. What I really want is a browny/yellowy based spotty stock which will complement my tack, tweed jacket and brown leather gaiters. Is this acceptable or does it have to be navy? Also can I get away with a very dark brown hat? My 'best' hat is navy which obviously complements my navy stock but would look weird with brown.

If it is acceptable can anybody recommend a good online shop to buy a nice quality self-tie brown stock?

Oh the dilemma!! Do I worry too much about trivial things? :)

Hat - No idea!!! But stock doesn't have to be navy, it shouldnt be white though with a tweed jacket. I have a gree one with small white dots!

Navy spotted stocks are fab, and look great with tweed. Defo not white with tweed. Don't worry about your hat (although I'm not a great fan of brown hats, pref black or navy) - and navy does look good with brown tweed! Having said that, I do think it looks good to have your boots, tack and hat the same so perhaps brown would be a perfect match! Hope you have fun.

A shirt and tie or a coloured stock - fear not, I am not daft enough to want to wear a white stock with tweed, I just want to indulge my passion for brown without offending anyone :)
