Hi,

I'm 20 and have owned my brilliant horse for 7 years, have hunted her a couple of times years ago with east kent, and always had great fun! Looking back I should have done more, but I tended to focus on my showjumping.... Now shes coming up to 21 and had a few health issues last year she is in retirement livery not far from me.. The lady that runs it is so lovely I come up and hack her once or twice a week still, but I don't want to push her as she is now an older lady :)

I also school my friends 5year old every so often and she has offered for me to take him out hunting, but I don't feel that I'd be able to give him the confidence he needs as I haven't done it in so long!

Anyway enough rambling, how do I go about doing it if I haven't got a ride? Is there somewhere I could advertise or just ask around? I would so love to do it again as I remember having such great fun and massive adrenaline rush!

I'm fairly lightweight (8st10) so am able to ride ponies.

I am doing the hireling thing this year as my pony is off work for the next 4 - 6 months. It is so much fun and has been a great opportunity to meet new people and ride hunt schoolmasters across new country. Go for it!

depends on how well you are known, how confident you are, your experience and so on, but you could perhaps offer to take young horses out for people to get some miles in. Usually makes for a steady day as you stick to the back, do gates and generally "Nag" them about, but you still get to be out!
