Because most Rhinos are endangered species AND poachers use cruel methods, and leave baby Rhinos to starve to death. Doh.
He is not a vegan. I am sure he does not seek out animals to kill. "for pleasure" I don't think he does much hunting, he has a job with the forces. Leave the guy alone.
Does anyone really consider "mumsnet" is a socially responsible network known for for reasoned argument?

Wow the rubbish they're coming up with. Anyone else know that 75% of the nation is against fox-hunting? Now I know plenty of anti hunting people and I completely respect and understand their views, but even when at uni, when living in cities etc I would never have said that the figure was as high as that.

I'm not sure if they fully understand the difference between hunting and shooting. And also that if you go hunting, that you aren't killing animals, but following a pack of someone else's hounds who may or may not kill an animal. I think many people don't understand how hunting works, often imagining it to be a private event, where everyone out hunting is the huntsman, and that the hounds belong to those following. People don't seem to understand that hunting is a public event and of course, that it is not the followers killing, or hunting the quarry. I don't know if I'm right or not, but that's the impression I get from the views of much of the general public.

Ah....please tell me you use this username on aliens net?...

Right everyone...am off to find some roadkill for supper...that isn't shot...it also gets to ponder its existence for ages whilst flailing around...might even rip some nettles up to make nettle gnocci to go with it...apparently if you grab & throttle them hard whilst yanking their roots out, they don't bite too hard..but I'm concerned the death once again is quite slow...can anyone recommend any kinder methods as i would hate to offend anyone!

oh and just incase any aliens are reading this...:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I know how you love the 's

I think that you will find that 75% of the public support the ban after having been asked some very leading questions before that actual question, and of course the survey was sponsored by LACS, and of course it was a sample of a couple of hundred city dwellers which is then meant to be representitive of the other 60m people in the country.

Then again if you asked the same people surveyed "do you know anything about fox hunting?" or "are you qualified to have an opinion on it" 99% would answer no.

Surveys, aren't they great!
